Phone overrides Wi-Fi tether after starting it.

Which device (manufacturer, type)?
ZTE Supreme (Virgin Mobile)
Which firmware is installed?
Jellybean 4.1.2
What version of wireless tether are you using?
3 beta 2
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Change device profile to Nexus(CDMA/LTE)
2. Change SSID and password
3. Start tethering

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The Wi-Fi hotspot is activated for about ten seconds, suddenly stops with an 
error saying the phone takes over Wi-Fi settings. 
Please provide any additional information below.

My device is rooted, I've tried several apps, this is the first time I actually 
saw the access point on another device.

Try turning off the connections optimizer.
(Settings> More Networks> Mobile networks
