Backend handles GET /books/ route #25

In order for @redbassett to finish #2 (list of books view), I guess we need some kind of way to get the list of books from the server. Huh.

Mostly done in 99d3cca2b670995677975ced4182151a82e9823d. I'd like to get some quick tests for this.
