We're definitely planning on differentiating between administrators (who can reconfigure Alexandria's settings) and regular users. Do we want to consider adding a separate category for librarians?
We're planning on making the permission level required to add/remove and check in/check out books reconfigurable in the config file, so some sites might want to assign those to librarians only, but might also want to not permit a large group of librarians to change Alexandria settings. Other sites might permit regular users to modify the book list and perform loans, so the librarians category may not be used.
