Patch query and resolution issue on iPad #123

Hello. I wanted to ask if it’s possible to apply mods/patches to a Fallout install and then add the files to Fallout CE as normal, or does CE override anything like that?

I also have an issue with the resolution of the game, I am using the logical resolution of my iPad Air 4 in the ini file and when running it is very small and hard to read on my screen, even more so if I press the button that shrinks/expands the view.

Thank you for your time!

Without being part of the team, from source skimming, I'd say CE overrides nothing, or tries not to. However, having played a few combos, I'd say you must play the gog data files, nothing else, no patches especially not the unofficial TeamX patches, and do so with a current binary, later than from the releases page.

Release + gog - hangs and crashes. Compiled from source + gog - never was as perfect or as stable back in the 90es. Fresh binary + TeamX patches - stable but story+quest glitches abound. e.g. Radscorpion cave gives quest XP for each scorp, not once after the last one, Tandi never gets abducted, Aradesh never notices the Radscops are dealt with, and so on. Fixt - won't crash but your character walks around on a black screen. And that is after dealing with the upper/lower case stuff that all those patches would mess up by themselves.

Same for resolution stuff - needs a fresher binary on Linux than published here, so it's a probable assumption on other platforms as well.
