1 month ago With the web terminal in the options (that's needs to be enabled first in the services) you can access it with micro /config/birdnet.conf or with the Filebrowser addon in /addon_configs/*birdnet-pi

1 month ago there is nothing in the logs, except many Starting service: throttlerecording. nothing gets added when I try to activate the services that keep failing:
this is my first install, so no older version to compare to.

1 month ago Mmh you could try a full uninstall, full reinstall, but without the rtsp field? I wonder if the rtsp field isn't causing the issue as it doesn't seem to connect... What is strange also is that a wav file "2024-07-15-birdnet-RTSP_1-02:33:13.wav" seems to be stuck in the analysis directory. Full uninstall should solve that

1 month ago Did that, did not configure stream. Right off the bat analysis service is not starting. Nothing in the logs unless I am looking in the wrong place. Web terminal starts but doesn't function.

1 month ago Thanks I'm off for 2 weeks actually so have less time than usual to check things... It's really weird. All the throttling errors are just because it tries to restart the services. I'll try to think of something
Edit : how much ram and storage space do you have? One could be full?

1 month ago Sorry for all that ; it's the first time a user system fails to start services in this manner and I'm trying to understand why also it fails silently. Could you go in the web terminal from ip:port (not ingress) and type sudo systemctl start birdnet_analysis and sudo systemctl start birdnet_recording? Perhaps you'll have more debug info by doing that

1 month ago what's the username/password for the web ui on ip:port? pi + pwd configured in add-on config don't work.
update: it's birdnet without a password. (would be great if that was in the readme...had to find it by searching)

1 month ago For webui, it is birdnet as user and the password configured in the birdnet.conf file, with empty as default. pi + password configured in the add-on options is for web terminal

sudo systemctl start birdnet_analysis
sudo systemctl start birdnet_recordingjournalctl says no journal files were found.
not sure what to do.

1 month ago That's so weird... No error should mean startup OK. For example if you type sudo systemctl status birdnet_analysis it should output the status. Logically failed if the service didn't start.
You're the first user I see with this issue alas... Perhaps you should try birdnet-go add-on it is a totally different logic so should work out of the box
edit : journalctl sees no internal logs as they are sent directly to rhe add-on logs within HA

1 month ago When I said birdnetgo works, I had just started it. It only works for like 10 minutes and the needs a restart. Nothing indicating errors in the logs, the UI still works fine, just no detection while I can even hear birds in the audio stream. What is going on with these addons?

1 month ago I don't have any issues with any other addons. I am running this on beefy hardware. But something is not working in the proxmox vm with docker combination I am using because even birdnet on a docker vm (so no extra ha layer) fails
