I'm not sure I agree with Paul, however it's taken me a while to understand quite what's happening with image_proxy.
Maybe clarifying what's happening (images will show local copies unless they are not present, in which case it will show a 'live' copy) will help things?
If you don't set -i which set image_proxy to y (true) it prompt you to to say yes / no when you run the script so what is the point of having a flag.
What I am suggesting is that if you do not add -i then you are not prompted to add one

Please set the image_proxy to n as default so it doesn't prompt or remove the i option
