Installing and running star #911

I am new to RNA seq analysis. I installed Linux in VirtualBox because I have Windows,and I read that Star does not run on windows. Howe, I can not get it to run on Linux from VirtualBox either. Can you help me with the installation and starting the program, please?

Hi @Nyamugenda12

I have not tried STAR on virtual Linux machines - in principle, it should work. The easiest thing is to try running the pre-compiled executable: bin/Linux_x86_64_static/STAR
