In the exisiting code base alex set up a rich text editor the "rich" formatig is html

  1. the editor provides its content in 2 seperate formats (a) as html (b) as text
  2. main issue save snip content as text or html
  3. sub issue consider if the view must return the html formatting when the user views the snip then we need to store the html

It is important that the content retain it's format when it is saved. So yes please save in html.

I was looking for a decent toolbar implementation to use and grabbed the first one I found and I'm not completely happy with it.
