For issue #46

I'm remote now, but can do cleanup later today for conflicts or desired changes.

I picked out the bits that I wanted in the main / upstream repo (feel free to check if there are any key parts that I missed).

Then I recommended publishing a quick blog post on dev.to/medium.com for the notes you have and linking back to the repo. Thanks for putting all this thought in.
