A BPM-Counter would really come in handy, and as Virtual DJ and Fruity Loops and pretty much any other program has one, i dont see that much of a problem right here.

This would be very valuable data for genre work, a simple line tempo=Y with perceived values described over X would be great. Granularity might be an issue, sparse storage might be favourable.
