Out of date info #34

I think it would be great to have two states: verified in the last six months, and unverified in the last six months, and there could be a filter for that for anyone using the data, i.e. the map, search, whatever.

To get that, I suggest a monthly auto-email that contains details and a one-click confirm click to verify/update.

So maybe we could add a "last-verified" date for each company and add a verify button on the company page when that date is older than 1yr old. I suppose we could also email users asking them to update\review their company info.

I see two issues in one, here:

1) Stale information 2) Incorrect information

I don't think we should mark something "verified" unless it's verified...and that begs the question, who verifies?

bradoyler commented 11 years ago

I guess we could go off last-updated date.

For the verification problem defined above, here's the process we hacked up at the hackathon...

  1. System sends out automated email to: Company email address (see #44 ), WeWorkinPhilly users identified as team members of the company.
  2. User(s) representing company receives email. Clicks verification link creating token which indicates verification.

Implications of verifying / not verifying defined in #
