will it work without modded bios?

Hi, will the repo work with official bios for the t480s? If not: how did you do the modding?

Hey there. Right now, it won't work, as there are some required changes in order for it to properly boot(patching the framebuffer and adding the cfg lock exception in the config, off the top of my head). You can look at the first repo linked in the readme, it has an awesome documentation, and the changes it includes for stock bios should make this one work. I can try, over the next few days, to compile a list of necessary changes and update the repo, if you can't work it out by then.

So, the necessary changes, as far as I can remember, are the following:

• in the config.plist file under EFI/OC, there are two options, AppleCpuPmCfgLock and AppleXcpmCfgLock. Currently, their values are false. For a stock bios, they must be set to true.

• in the same config file, under DeviceProperties, there is an item with the key PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0). This represents the GPU, which you would have to patch. Patching is done by adding the info from this link under the existing options: https://github.com/tylernguyen/x1c6-hackintosh/blob/main/patches/OpenCore%20Patches/Vanilla%20BIOS.plist

• finally, if you are still using the stock Intel Wi-Fi adapter, you will have to add the IntelBluetoothFirmware, IntelBluetoothInjector, AirportItlwm kexts in EFI/OC/Kexts, and add them in the config.

These tips are based on what I could source from other repos, it's been quite some time since I've used macOs on stock bios so I'm not sure if it will work with only these mods.

Frankly, I would recommend you read the Dortania guide, at least once, before using this configuration, as it'll provide you some basic knowledge of what's making this possible, and it will clear some things up for you. The config in this repo is not going to help you in the long run unless your machine is exactly as mine, and there will probably still be some mods you'll have to do until yourself until you set it right for your machine.
