We could get a fixed one, save some money http://www.amazon.co.uk/Planex-compliant-Network-CS-TX04F-designed/dp/B0015RB1QE/ref=sr_1_74?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1325712835&sr=1-74
If we need a pan option someone could make a simple pan mount for it out of a waterproofed servo motor, send the desired position over RS485 to a DsPIC
IP Camera has arrived
We could do with a downward facing camera so we can follow the pipe which always seems like one of the easier tasks. I was thinking of buying a network camera, you can even get pan/tilt ones for pretty cheap and try and enclose it in some 10mm thick acrylic. We've tried passing USB through the hull and it does work but it can be a bit on the sketchy side.
How about this camera? http://www.ebuyer.com/260605-xenta-wireless-night-and-day-wireless-ip-network-camera-ip11wcolor?utm_source=google&utm_medium=products
5volt supply, it'll do 30fps at 320x240, the pan/tilt allows us to do static scans of the sea bed, it could be scanning the floor while the sub has stopped for a sonar scan, tasty.
