I would like a fallback mode for making calls with-out a data connection. #2

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Making a GoogleVoice call with-out a data connection.

What is the expected output? Fail gracefully.

What do you see instead? It just keeps trying to open the data
connection.

What version of the product are you using? 0.2.335-1

On what operating system? N900 PR1.2

Please provide any additional information below.

I would like a fallback mode for making calls with-out a data connection.
[i.e. If the user makes a call; try to ping GoogleVoice. If that fails, then
immediately switch to "{GV-number}pp2p{phone-number}"]

{GV-voicemail}pp{*}p{pin}p{destination-number}

On GV website, under PHONES > ADVANCED SETTINGS > VOICEMAIL ACCESS:
there are options for whether the {*} and|or the {PIN number} is required.

Hopefully you will be able to add a matching user setting.

Fallback mode implemented in Maemo5 for the phone only. Also working: desktop
Skype. Desktop telepathy up next.

Maemo5 telepathy fallback is not possible because the telepathy spec in use for
Maemo does not support DTMF.
Meego can and will have telepathy fallbacks.
