Another user reported errors in the installation and after a bit of debugging,
here are the steps to follow:

echo '#!/bin/bash' >temp ; sudo mv temp /usr/bin/qgv-util
sudo apt-get remove qgvdial

Now install the latest version from the downloads list.
If you have problems, please respond on this issue or send me an email.

After installation, please run qgvdial by typing /opt/qgvdial/bin/qgvdial
I will put a symlink in the next release that is in the path.

In response to comment #11:
Please go to www.google.com/voice on your desktop browser and login to your
Google Account. Once you have completed the setup, you should be able to login
using qgvdial.

In response to comment #13:
How do you use Google Voice? Is it through the Gmail plugin or from a regular
cellphone / landline ? If you're only using the gmail plugin then qgvdial
doesn't have that feature yet. If you have also somehow used a
cellphone/landline while calling, I'd like to know that trick.

In response to comment #14:
qgvdial accepts proxy settings as well. Not sure if that will help, but that's
something you could try out...

In response to comment #15:
Aah, I see. My mistake, I forgot that they're in /usr/bin/qgvdial.
Opt-ification is required on Maemo and Harmattan and not on other Linuxes.
A symlink would still help, right?
