Statistics in memory -> speedup #22

Have not tested the memory footprint for long runs (only tested under one hour), so I don't know whether I'm pushing the memory limits here. I'm testing this right now, but:

_Statistics are generated practically instantly now, no more stalling & waiting_ :boom:
