Don't know how to get a custom mouse #164

I made a .gif file but can't use it as a mouse, or any file for that matter. Is there some specific kind of file I need to use? If so, can I convert a .gif file to it, and have it still be animated?

Thanks, is there a specific type of file I need to use? If so, could I convert the file type from a .png to this file type?
