Add BBA support (Broadband Adapter) #11

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Not really an issue.
Just a feature request if it's possible and somebody has the time to do it:

GameCube BBA (Broadband Adapter) support.

It would mean playing Mario Kart Double Dash with up to 8 people on two
televisions, which is as awesome as party games can get.

I second the request, although this is a low priority one since the aren't many
games supported.
Some of them can also be played with the XLink Kai tunneling software.
The GC BBA could be emulated using the Wii builtin wifi or with an external USB
LAN adapter.

Im looking forward to such an enhancement. I've been looking for anything
capable of doing this on Wii, but such a feature doesn't exist anywhere yet.
The best I've found is modem support with Devolution.

It does exist in Dolphin and should almost be too easy to port over.

I'd also love to have this feature implemented. Looking forward to hopefully
playing some Phantasy Star Online I & II again.

Steve, I'd like to point out that Devolution already handles PSA. No need to
wait for the LAN adapter to be implemented here.

My only issue is that my disc drive stopped reading discs years ago so I have
to rely on a usb loader... no Devolution for me unless I buy new wii

Is there any update for this issue? I never had the chance to buy 2 BBA's. But
a 8-player MKDD game party is just awesome. I hope there will progress be made
soon.

It excites me to see it, currently, as the only thing they have left to
implement. I'd love to hook my Wii up to my Wii U for some 8-player action.
Especially now that it supports the official GameCube controller adapter.

Is there any word on this now that it's the last major feature left?
Ballpark estimates even?
This would seriously make my day what with 8 player Mario Kart:DD, full screen
multiplayer Kirby Air Ride, Hassle-Free PSO 1&2 (If you have a server).

Words alone cannot express my excitement here.

In case anyone is interested, I contacted the individual that implemented this
feature in Dolphin about this enhancement. He said that he dislikes the Wii. He
suggests that one of the project devs here work on it and that we ask Dolphin
about any potential issues.
