Icon idea: Hotel-Restaurant combo

Hi-
First of all...I think this is a huge service that you are providing.  It's
amazing how many icons you have already generated (which, obviously, are
far superior to google's boring defaults)

I do have a suggestion for a new icon.  Many of the hotels that I stay at
also have fine dining.  I was thinking of dual purpose icons to avoid
overlapping of 2 separate ones.  Perhaps even with some sort of 'left
side'|'right side' rating (Hotel 4 | Food 3).

Of course, having now skills of my own to perform such a task, I have no
clue what the overall effort required would be and this whole 'rating' idea
sounds like a lot of info to pack into a tiny icon.  So feel free to
completely ignore this if I sound like a crazy person :-D

You are absolutely not crazy at all :)

First of all, I think it's gonna be hard to add "rating" to our icons. If we do 
so,
every kind of place could be rated, and it would be a pain of for us.
Also "rating" is subjective.

What we want to do, and not yet finished, is created an icon for 1-star hotels,
2-stars, 3, 4, 5-stars hotels. Because it's objective, even if not fair :)

Actually, our problem now is choosing a design for "hotel", "youth hostel", 
"Bed &
breakfast", "apartment hotel". If you are an expert on the subject, I would be
pleased to hear your opinion.

I agree that this is a part of our collection that is still pretty weak.  I'm 
not
super happy with the Hotel icon, neither with most other Lodging ones that we 
have. 
Muxdemux is right that we also should have rated versions of all of them.  
Adding
what kind of food/if any they have is a nice idea as well (maybe with rating the
restaurant as well?) ;-)  As you can see it's simply not feasible, we can't get 
all
that info into 20x20 pixels.  There is really no reason why you couldn't put 2 
icons
next to each other, one for the hotel and one for the restaurant, right?

Hotels is our weak part for sure...
Let's think of a new categorization before doing anything in this category.

Hi,

The Hotel icons with rating are now created finally, I did lot's of them...  We 
now also have the Gourmet ones with rating.
