New WHITE category suggestion "Signs, Letters & Numbers" #71

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
How about moving all the arrows, numbers and future letters (right?) to a
seperate white background generic category?

Hmm well, from my observations in the issue list and others suggestions :
people want
numeric background-colored icons.
I can't see the white color answer this request.

Also, the arrows are for now, Transportation/Traffic related.

My idea, is to put all the numeric icons (all colors) in a separate Wiki page.
But I
know that wasn't what you meant :)

People ask for a lot of things... ;-) Having a white background is pretty
generic. Are you thinking about having 100 numbers in all colors AND the whole
alfabet in all colors AND when people start asking for Pi, Alfa and Omega etc
in all
colors? I think (as you guessed) that, for example the arrows should be in
here as
well since they don't have to be traffic related... //Matthias

You are right, but since the beginning of the project, 5 people suggested
"numeric
colored icons". And 5, for this project is a big number :)

The other big number was 2, for a winery, and for directions, I think.

Maybe we can still do both : the numeric colored (I will do them) + white
numeric
(you can do them ?).

Sure, I'll do that. Do you want me to do them with the Standard size or a
smaller
one?

I would like you to use the numeric template I did :
http://google-maps-icons.googlecode.com/files/numeric.psd

Hope I will be OK with your Paint.net !

Hi Nico,

Made 0-9 with the white background according to the template you gave me above.
 I
just noticed that this template misses the gray transparent shadow that we have
in
the other icons. I there a specific reason for this or is this an error in the
template? I won't do the others until I know for sure, since it takes quite
some time...

Hello Matthias,

I saw your numbered icons, and they don't have transparency, unlike my psd
template.
I don't know why you lost the transparent border ?

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Like I wrote in the post above yours, this is why I stopped doing the
numbers... ;-)
When I open the template you sent me it doesn´t have the transperency. So you are
telling me that is has it in Photoshop? Could be you know, since I use an
importer
into Paint.NET. I´ll just copy the transparency from another icon, OK?

OK, I couldn't copy from another icon since these are smaller... Are you super
sure
that the transparency is in the template? In what layer is it? //Matthias

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
The border transparency is under "borders small group", layer "calque 1 copie
2".

Sorry about the names, it's not really helpful !

Well Matthias, just give it up with numbered icons, I will give it a try. Soon
:)

I have the layer "calque 1 copie 2" but there is no outside of the icon
transparency
in that layer for me. Guess this is a Paint.NET problem. Can you just send me
or
post 1 icon in .PNG format that is correct so I can copy the transparency and
I'll do
the rest?

I think the white category is done.
I don't think we will use other stuff then numbers on white backgrounds.

I close it, but if you have new ideas, reopen it okay ?
