Assalamu alaikum

It would be great if you could publish the latest version of your extension to the Firefox extension store!

Jazak Allahu Khair.

Walaikum Assalam,

Yes, I am working on this too, soon inshallah.

Firefox supports Manifest v2 and even it's own manifest v3 features, which means we can use more features that allow the extension to be a ton more performant and less taxing on the browser resources (by utilizing background scripts).

example extension that utilizes these features pretty nicely: wingman_jr

I am contemplating whether to just port the existing code or start a fork of this repo with a rewrite of the code to be optimized for firefox

man2machine commented 1 year ago

I use the firefox browser so this would be quite helpful! I would recommend keeping it in the same repo, but then organizing the repo so that there is a chrome folder and a firefox folder. Otherwise it would be hard to deal with changes that affect both in the long run. For example, this is how the tahir extension is done.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on Firefox for Android But the desktop one works great

alganzory commented 11 months ago

@LinuxJava7 yeah I didn't really test it for Android, I should probably disable the android version until I've tuned it for it I think

LinuxJava7 commented 11 months ago

Now that I checked again, it doesn't work on Kiwi Browser either (it has desktop chromium extensions)

alganzory commented 11 months ago

Huh, I remember it working on Kiwi, anyway, can you please create a separate issue for this so I can keep track of it?

LinuxJava7 commented 11 months ago

I made #49 Should I make an issue about firefox on android?
