Use tshirt sizing for scope i.e. if a very small amount of work, put tshirt size XS, if it will take ages, put XL.

"I think we should do X, because Y, I think the size of this work is tshirt size M"

I think search bar can be improved, and the expected UI would be: click search bar to expand to full-width in the middle, horizontal layout (in federated search manner) displaying recent search, history search, query suggestions in category, products preview. And the size of the work is t-shirt size M.

Have asked François for recommendation of styling a horizontal layout will get back to you guys a bit later on this. So far, the method of overriding the classic theme (default style) seems not working well due to constant changing of ids upon refreshing the page.

We'll soon have CSS utility classes that allow that. For now you could either add a style prop in the render option or ignore that and add a comment.

Having a scroll back to top button might be helpful for improving UX on the homepage. The t-shirt size would be XS.
