Who is this Hackathon for?

Startups, students, game changers, entrepreneurs, developers, basement hackers, bots that pass the Turing test ... We're not fussy as long as you bring skills to the table. We welcome geeks in FinTech, InsurTech, AI, UX designers, Blockchain, coders, idea generators, social media experts, marketers, data scientists... You get the idea!

Hackathon Challenges

1. Social Networks

Description

Social networks have become an inseparable part of our lives. The leap in the speed of information transmission allows us to keep abreast of what is happening all over the world. At the same time, blockchain-based digital currencies are also trying to increase the speed of value transmission to a level equivalent to that of information transmission.

In this challenge, we hope that participants can combine digital currency with social networks to develop applications that can extend the functions of social network applications or enhance the user experience of social networks.

2. Crowdfunding

Description

Crowdfunding is a new paradigm of investment that lowers the barrier for individual investors to join opportunities that only belonged to institutional investors. According to statistics, approximately $17.2 billion is generated yearly through crowdfunding. Digital currency has the potential to further lower this barrier as even in places where there are no banks, digital currency can still empower anyone to enjoy equal and affordable financial services as long as they have a smartphone.

In this challenge, we hope that participants can design and develop a decentralized crowdfunding product based on Algorand blockchain technology. Based on smart contracts, the support the users to launch a crowdfunding campaign or join one.

3. Identity

Description

Decentralised identity (DID) is an emerging concept that gives back control of identity to users through the use of an identity wallet. With DID, users can login to different services and product without exposing their personal information.

In this challenge, we hope that participants can design and develop a smartphone based decentralized identity app. The app should interact with Algorand blockchain to store, retrieve and verify data.
