Exam class doesn't add points #196

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use \documentclass[addpoints]{exam}
2.Call \numpoints\ at some point.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the total number of points.  Instead, I see 0 points.  

What version of the product are you using? On what browser?
I'm using Firefox, I don't know what version of latex-lab.

Please provide any additional information below.
I believe it might just need to be compiled twice in a row before producing 
output.
