Series disappear from the list #18

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
When I add a French serie such as "Braquo" or "Hero Corp" everything is fine
but if I exit and reopen DroidSeries, this series are not existing from the
database.

I'm using version 1.1.5-1

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Add "Braquo" or "Hero Corp" to series list
2. Close DroidSeries
3. Open DroidSeries
4. Try to find "Braquo" or "Hero Corp" in series list

I followed the steps to reproduce.
I couldn't encounter a problem.

"Braquo" is appearing on the list after adding, closing and reopening.

using DroidSeries 1.5-1 and Android 2.1.

walla.droid,

I tried it again a few minutes ago with braquo and series still disappear as
soon as I close DroidSeries.

Do you want me to send you my Database to wee what's wring with it? If yes,
just let me know the file I need to send.

Using DroidSeries 0.1.5-1 on Android 2.2

I'm having the same issue after updating my X10 Mini Pro to 2.1. I had been
using DroidSeries for 2 months without any problems, but now any series that I
try adding disappear when I exit and reopen the program.

@stephane.haziza and @lleonardpler

I can't reproduce it on the emulator neither on my Milestone.

Do you know how to use logcat? If you don't know I can help you via chat
(IRC/Gtalk/MSN Messenger) so that you can create a dump of the error (stack
trace) and let me see what's causing the error. It would be great if you could
help on this as other users may be having the same problem.

I've been having a similar issue.

I cannot get a series to save in the list. Sometimes I can get 4-5 shows in the
list (Supernatural, Eureka, The Dresden Files, etc) but if the app force
closes, they all go. Also, if I hit sort, they similarly all go. If I exit and
come back, they're all gone. :X

I dont know how to use logcat but will look into it, great concept project and
I'd love to utilize it :)

HTC EVO.

paulo.cabido,

I just saw thankfully to my friend Google how to use logcat. As soon as i have
an issue, I'll start a logcat and will get some useful info.

Which logcat level do you need?? Verbose?

I don't know how to use logcat. However, I found out that the series also
disappear from the list if I change the order twice (first change is fine: the
series are still there, but returning to alphabetical order makes them
disappear).

Also, if I don't exit the program and download again the data of a series that
has disappeared, the list of chapters is doubled (ie: Season one with 13
episodes is listed like having 26 episodes: two episode #1, two episode #2,
etc).

If I exit the program, open it again and try to download the data of a series
that has just disappeared, sometimes the list of seasons is doubled (two Season
1, two Season 2, etc).

Maybe these discoveries will let you find the root of the problem...

I had the same problem, I couldn't get shows to stick to the Series list after
a restart of the app. I just restored the database I used before with Titanium
Backup (restore Data Only) and tried adding a new show, which stuck (i.e. it's
still there after a restart). That database had been created with an older
version of DroidSeries.

Just an idea: Maybe there's a problem creating the database during installation
of the latest version that wasn't there in older versions?

@lleonardpler that's a serious bug. Can you let me know the phone that you are
using and the android version?

@netsoerfer I won't exclude that problem but I din't change that code from past
to new versions.

If any one of you is willing to try to use logcat and send me the stack trace,
it would help *allot*! I can guide you thru this.

@paulo.cabido - I'm using the Xperia X10 Mini Pro with Android 2.1.

The app was working fine before I updated the phone (I had been using it for 2
or 3 months).
