Meshroom could benefit from better feature matching. It would also benefit from newer research on 3D reconstruction from images.

It is being worked on: https://github.com/PIX3LFLUX/MeshroomDFM

The main problem is mostly that new projects (by nvidia for example) are not licensed for commercial use.
