SCTP could not connect: Connection refused

Hi, I am fairly new to working with UERANSIM Open5GS. I would like to experiment with network slicing on 5G on my Ubuntu 20.04 LTS desktop, and I modified both the amf.yaml and nssf.yaml files as per master degree's thesis by Iria Gonzalez from the University of Vigo in Spain. I used Ubuntu commands: sudo nano /etc/open5gs/amf.yaml and sudo nano /etc/open5gs/nssf.yaml respectively. Below are the respective modifications suggested: plmn_support:

  • sst: 1 sd: 000001
  • sst: 1 sd: 000002 and: nsi:

Then I used the following commands to restart Open5GS: sudo systemctl restart open5gs-amfd.service and sudo systemctl restart open5gs-nssfd.service. Though I have access to http://localhost:3000/, and create UE's, I cannot start my simulation from the UERANSIM directory when using these two commands: build/nr-gnb -c config/open5gs-gnb.yaml and $ sudo build/nr-ue -c config/open5gs-ue.yaml. Could anyone help me figure out what's the issue? Thank you very much for your help.

Hi @georgesbahati

Please make sure that UERANSIM and Open5GS deployed on different virtual machines. Then all IP addresses (AMF, UPF, gNodeB) are set correctly in UE, gNodeB, and core network config files (Especially AMF and gNodeB in your case). Then make sure that AMF is started before the gNodeB.

Veuillez vous assurer qu’UERANSIM et Open5GS ont été déployés sur des machines virtuelles différentes. Ensuite, toutes les adresses IP (AMF, UPF, gNodeB) sont définies correctement dans les fichiers de configuration UE, gNodeB et du réseau central (en particulier AMF et gNodeB dans votre cas). Assurez-vous ensuite que AMF est démarré avant le gNodeB.
