What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Always gives "The URL you have entered is not allowed." error, ALWAYS.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Proper shortening.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Phurl 2.4.2

I had the same problem.

I had the following in my config.php:

define('SITE_URL', 'http://domain_name.com');

I changed it to:

define('SITE_URL', 'http://www.domain_name.com');

and it now works fine.
