Pine A64-LTS problem #14

Hi,

I download lastest wersion of poky and added needed layers, but when i'm trying to start this image on pine then it goes out after few seconds (i think that because green LED goes out). I build image using this command "MACHINE=pine-a64-lts bitbake core-image-base", but flashed it via BlenaEtcher instead of dd, because my linux is on VirtualBox. Thanks for any help.

Can you get a log from the serial port?

If the lights are turning off you might now have a sufficient power source.

PatrykBadowski commented 3 years ago

How can i get it? I can't see any output on HDMI and DSI.

Armbian working fine, but i wish to use poky because it is more adjustable :). My power supply have 5V 2A.

You can attach a FDTI serial connector to the UART output. You should be able to lookup how to do that for your board.

Otherwise try reading the README: https://github.com/alistair23/meta-pine64#displaying-the-kernel-boot-log-on-hdmi

1618474961152 1618474961146 Here is what i get. One is with plugged in ethernet cable, second one without it.

To flash image i'm just taking the biggest size file with .wic extension and dropping it in BalenaEtcher. Should i did something more?

alistair23 commented 3 years ago

Hmmm... It looks like the image isn't being loaded

PatrykBadowski commented 3 years ago

Have you any idea how to fix it?

alistair23 commented 3 years ago

I'm not sure sorry. I don't have that board, but I'm surprised it doesn't work. Have you tried rebooting the board? Maybe the SD card doesn't come up in time.

You might want to go back and try before the fitImage conversion, and see if that helps: https://github.com/alistair23/meta-pine64/tree/db1b662a206a2de931701387e542893685a6fe19

The other option is to get serial access and manually try to get the commands to work.

I think this is because i'm using blenaEtcher. Just tried version from link above and this same. Should i have 2 partitions after flashing? One of it have is named "pine64". When i flashed armbian i had just 1.

alistair23 commented 3 years ago

You should have two, see: https://github.com/alistair23/meta-pine64/blob/master/wic/pine64-bsp-image.wks
