Id look to getting some baseboard code upstream before you go full-tilt on the devs. Its a good time start a series as the next merge window just opened.
The problem is that the baseboard doesn't do anything without the devices and the devices are not yet ready to go anywhere
Well,
You can boot pracs 1 2 and 3, which is a good start. I've seen people go upstream with less. Just be wary not to over-commit on devs before the first series. Usually you want 3 or 4 max, otherwise you run the risk of being asked to do it in mulitple phases and across the next release (having to wait until december).

Ok, I guess I can upstream what I have, it still needs a bit of work though
There are still lots of holes. I'll see how it goes over the weekend. Without any external access most of the examples are pretty basic
Specificly TIM5 for example 5
