Can't be merged before alibuild 1.17.12

macOS builders bumped to 1.17.12, let's see if they agree with the change

@ktf is this what you had in mind for the old aliBuild versions workaround?

And should we print a warning when the workaround happens? If we use the workaround and the system Python changes we won't be able to tell, which was the goal of this new system in the first place
