Vanadium Redox Power Cell (ZPM) too expensive #385

Open Highbeam opened 6 years ago

Highbeam commented 6 years ago

Issue Title

I agree the Vanadium Redox was too expensive previously and agree with the increased prices apart from the ZPM ones.

16 Iridium Reinforced Plates are insanely expensive in Iridium and Diamonds. (64 Iridium, 16 Diamonds plus the extra processing/TNT etc).

I suggest reducing this to 4 or 8.

I disagree. The cells hold 6.4 billion eu, and upgrading your cells like this nets 4.8 billion eu in additional energy capacity. The equivalent in zpm-tier batteries would be adding about 12 medium naquadah batteries (each costing 16 naquadria, 6 europium, and 2 naquadah alloy cables) or about half of an energy module (one of these costs 16 europium, 4 wetware assemblies, 8 lapotronic energy orb clusters, 2 luv field gens, 128 asoc wafers, 8 smd diodes, and 32 naquadah cables).

sthegreat - review all the redox recipes please and then comment:

either this redox is too expensive or the others are too cheap

draknyte1 commented 5 years ago

I should revise these based on the new alloys added in one of the last few commits. Some of those require 100m+ eu/t to manufacture.

For GTNH I'd say this looks kind of bad. We got fun zpm stuff, no reason to use IV things. Why not like 16 fluxed electrum plates? Probably got complaints about the other parts, but those plates seem better imo.

either this redox is too expensive or the others are too cheap

Probably the latter, at least for NH. The UVs seemed kinda cheap, idk how I feel about it using Krypton which seems LuV at most? The cells as a whole could probably do with a change for NH.
