Have the first player as "NEW PLAYER" (probably allcaps) in the drop down menu
Have the comments box also say "Username (for new offline players)?"
When a new player submits a run, the moderator first creates that new player's name (use the crawl account name for online players), and then change the submitted run to be from that name.
