Notebook updates #220

Consolidated PR for https://github.com/allenai/scholar/issues/35862 Wow -- could not figure out how to get the branch up to date with main without adding a million new lines of code to the PR. This PR takes the notebooks from https://github.com/allenai/mmda/pull/218 and https://github.com/allenai/mmda/pull/219 and just puts them both onto this branch on their own. Instructions include downloading upgraded version of MMDA to run the notebook without running into MMDA upgrade errors. Sorry for the confusion!

Merging since got the Approval from Bailey in other PRs that were consolidated into this one
