Which version are you running? Can I ask you to please build from development and see if that solves the issue? There have been several fixes that may have addressed a similar issue. Also, can you please post your console output using a Chrome browser?
In addition, just as a best practice, please try adding a dash to let goaccess know that it should read from the pipe, e.g.,
ssh rp01.example 'tail -f /var/log/httpd/www.example.com.uy_access_log' | goaccess -a --real-os -o report.html --real-time-html -
I'm running the 1.2. Using chrome in the console it just write:
GET http://localhost:7890/favicon.ico 400 (Invalid Request)
I'll try to use the one from development
Any updates on this?
Yep, still isn't working (with the flags you say), related to the devel version, I've been having some issues trying to install it on the mac, so still, I can't say if with it works
Can you please try reading a much smaller data set, e.g., first 5 lines from your access log? Just to see if the issue has something to do with the content of the log and how is parsing it.
Mmm, no it also doesn't work, I even pass in a manual way the literal format log defined in apache (just in case the format log isn't working), but not, it's the same
I was able to reproduce this so what you could do is to force a tty on the ssh session, i.e.,
ssh -t -t root@host 'tail -f /var/log/apache2/access.log' | goaccess -a --real-os -o /var/www/site/report.html --real-time-html --log-format=COMBINED -
That was tested in v1.2.
Any updates on this?
Closing this. Feel free to reopen it as needed.
Hi to everyone, I'm trying to use goaccess in real time html on macos with logs that resides on a remote server, but when I try to open the view in the browser whichever I use (firefox, chrome, safari, it doesn't matter), I get a blank page.
The command I was running is:
ssh rp01.example 'tail -f /var/log/httpd/www.example.com.uy_access_log' | goaccess -a --real-os -o report.html --real-time-html
I try to acces through:
http://localhost:7890/report.html
Using the developer tools in Firefox, I noticed the response error is a 400, and in the console view firefox give me this message:
The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range. The character encoding of the page must be declared in the document or in the transfer protocol.
If I see the content of report.html, it have the inside the head section, so I can't understand why firefox give me that message.
My config file is:
What I could be doing wrong? I'll apreciate if someone could help me.
Regards,
ceso.
