This PR has 2 improvements:

allow to run the build-if-changed from any folder within the a monorepo
add support for pnpm
better resolution logic for finding a package manager

@aleclarson any chance to get this merged? I know this repo has not been updated in a while, but is a quick change that can be useful to more people. I'm happy to help maintain it if you cannot :)
