Allusion stops displaying images at startup - database file too big? #604

Allusion is no longer displaying images when started, not recognizing any files previously shown in library (over 120k). Searching from the search bar fails to work. Some of my saved searches work, but not others. Happened previously and I had to restore from a weeks-old database backup. That did the trick but it's happened again.

Steps to reproduce the behavior: Unknown

Expected behavior Allusion should start up and display all images as normal, or the results from the previous search (if enabled in settings).

Even after the "Searching for New files" notification disappears, images still do not appear.

Allusion version 1.0.0-rc.10

Desktop OS Windows 10

Additional context Have tried deleting everything and reinstalling from scratch - to include all temp and other directories. No luck. Restoring from a (much) older database backup will fix it, but after a short time I run into the problem again. It seems to happen once the database file reaches a size somewhere over 81-82Mb.

Yes, it does affecting me too, damn it keep bugging me, before, it just fine, but the rc10 are completely broken I guess

  • Are you on windows too(I saw your username @macworld1410 but I still have to ask 😂)?
  • how many images do you have? do you know the size of the DB?

Yes I'm on Windows, hahahaha, I used to onto MacOS before switch to Windows I've got 188.269 image. I Assuming that .db are locate on Users/(username)/AppData/Roaming/Allusion/databases : my .db is about 28kb
