If a djvu or pdf file is open, pausing and restoring the app closes it. #121

I am reporting this bug as a part of a research project at the University of 
Texas at Austin. Please accept the bug if it is valid.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a pdf file.
2. Hit the home button to pause the app.
3. Go back to the app: the file is closed.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The file should remain open but it is closed.

Please include the following info:
Phone model? Android emulator, with CPU Intel Atom (x86)
Android Version?  Android 4.3 API level 18
ROM?  512 MB of SD card
