This is just a placeholder with updated/merged changes in master for #80

@rfuest Not sure which way you want to go with this, I just updated it fixed conflicts and fmt/lint (apart from the missing TODO part).

Note sure how much more work you planned to put into this, is it just the VSA framebuffer size fix?

This PR has been open long enough so that I don't remember the details anymore. I'll try to take a look at it later this week.

I had some issues with merging the newest master branch changes into this PR. Git didn't want to cooperate today and I've decided to make my life easier by squashing everything into one commit and rebasing that onto the master branch. I've force pushed my rebased version to the original PR #80. That PR does now contain all the latest master changes, but I haven't done any work on finishing the PR itself.
