so you aren't using scenes?
No not using scenes. Not got that far in the manual. I use 8face a lot, like for every sequencer.
i'll look, but 8face is a nice hack, but a hack nonetheless
and here is a preset manager built into the module, seems kinda silly not to use it
you could use 8face just to change the scene # ;)
One of the reasons I use 8face is I can map the preset switch to MIDI. I imagine I can map the scenes that way as well. But what 8Face does should work. It stores presets and uses Rack API to load the presets when you click a button. I haven't tried it but are you sure the same thing doesn't happen if you load a preset from a file in the context menu?
I checked & if you load a preset from the context menu on QAR it doesn't have this problem. Maybe I should log it as a bug for Stoermelder too!
I am attaching a patch file, which illustrates the problem. There are two presets in the 8FACE. If you switch from the first to the second preset, the first Rhythm Channel (which is set to Manual) doesn't recall the trigger settings.
If you click on any of the beats in the first track, it brings the whole pattern back plus turning that beat on or off.
