MAC changes only before enabling and connecting to WiFi #73

I have Debian 10 (stable) and I'm trying to make macchanger to randomize my MAC on every boot.

I always have my WiFi OFF and only enable it when needed. If I change the MAC before enabling WiFi, everything works perfectly. As soon as I enable it and connect in a AP, the MAC is still the hard-coded one.

Looking it up, I found this StackExchange question and the conclusion is that NetworkManager is taking over and therefore reverts the changed MAC to original.

Is it possible to explain me how to configure NetworkManager so it doesn't take over and only uses macchanger to generate a MAC address, because the answers in that question are not clear enough for me to solve the problem.

I am aware that I'm a year late to this, but if anyone else is having this problem, refer to this StackExchange post.
