Prototypes that use GOV.UK protected assets (font, logotype, and crown) should ensure that they are at least one of the following:

• password protected.
• non-indexable.
• use a unique url.

Requests to use the GOV.UK font for publications should reach out to the GOV.UK Policy and Strategy for publications.

Things we could do

• Provide specific guidance for common use cases when asked about the GOV.UK protected assets on GOV.UK Design System support.
• Advise contractors to use the prototype kit if they are developing a service for a central government department going for a service assessment.
