From the release of v5, we're looking to support v4 for a year (see Impact) then revisit if support is still needed or not.
Thinking this paragraph of "Changes to GOV.UK Frontend v5.0.0" leads nicely to mentioning it:
When making the decision to migrate, consider your service’s current requirements. If you currently need to continue CSS support for legacy browsers like IE8, IE9, IE10, or need JavaScript support for IE11, you should not migrate to V5 at this time.
And wondering if it's worth a mention on the homepage of the v4 documentation as well.
What
Mention our plans for supporting v4 after v5 is released
Why
People will want to know how long they have before their back is against the wall for migrating to v5
