Project board - https://github.com/alphagov/verify-local-patterns/projects/1 ||||| This is a prototype of some content that will be included in the GOV.UK Service Toolkit about the best practice for councils to deliver two services - parking permits and concessionary travel. The repo also includes a working prototype of both services which follows the guidance, as delivered by the fictional council of Argleton.

Lizzie's comments:

/check-boundary page - after Verify postcode screen there is a screen, 'postcode check complete' If ineligible: The copy explanation is a) all in the button - this is not usability best practice b) includes several terms that should be avoided when writing for web - sorry, please, click here. 'you feel' is also not needed. Suggest this body copy: "You're not eligible for a permit. You can check the postcode again or contact us if you think this isn't correct." Suggest this button copy "Check again" Also, is it always that the property is not eligible or that sometimes it is not needed? For not needed instances, please see https://verify-local-patterns.herokuapp.com/service-patterns/parking-permit/example-service/not-needed

Tagging @joannesouthern to the issue

@EUzkuraityte this is a different (new) page because it handles the scenario of the address not being allowed a permit, rather than the address not needing a permit. As I understand it, that means that residents who are shown this page cannot park their car outside their property at all as they are in a permit zone but aren't allowed to apply for a permit. Whereas the permit not needed residents are not in a parking zone and can park freely without a permit.

Thanks @lizziebruce @joanneSouthern could you advice under what circumstances a user would see the 'sorry, you are not eligible...' message? would it be when there are no more permits available for the address?

lizziebruce commented 6 years ago

@EUzkuraityte Hi Egle, as I understand it there are some properties in Northumberland that either are not given any permits at all or are only allowed one. This is probably to do with traffic flow or other positioning of the properties.

joanneSouthern commented 6 years ago

@EUzkuraityte Hi Egle, this would mean they don't need one for the address they are applying for

EUzkuraityte commented 6 years ago

Many thanks @joanneSouthern Is it possible to make the page look like the one in the prototype? screen shot 2017-10-19 at 13 54 24
