Automate build through CI

Description

Implement the CI to automate the build and testing for every new commit pushed to the repository as well as all pull request to the master branch.

Acceptance Criteria

• [x] the CI builds the code for all commits, independently of the target / origin branches
• [x] the CI builds the code for all pull request to the master
• [x] the CI runs the test suit for all the above events
