Make launcher icon removeable #11

Once the keyboard installation is finished, it's not really necessary to have a
persistent launcher icon.

Look into adding a button to give users the option of removing it. Cf.

launcher

Except for one thing the icon has: the link to the market to install additional
dictionaries.

I'm sending a patch that adds a CheckBoxPreference with the option to hide/show
the application icon from the launcher.

"Except for one thing the icon has: the link to the market to install
additional dictionaries."
It's true, but nobody will use this constantly; and when they need it, just
show the icon again from the keyboard's settings.

Oddly, one of my phones (a Defy+ with cyanogen mod 7) used to reset the
keyboards preferences every time it booted (which was often because it was so
slow and crappy).
Such an update would have caused me a severe loss of time as I had to
reconfigure the keyboard every time.
But this must be an isolated case.

Hi there. Is there any chance to disable launcher icon?
