Shift applied to next digit (producing a symbol) after a single capital letter #25

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Press Shift once
2. Type any letter
3. Then, type any number.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
You should get the number you pressed, but instead you'll get the symbol that 
shares the key.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.13 from the Market, on 2.2.2 (Froyo) on Motorola Droid X2

Please provide any additional information below.
This issue makes typing passwords that contain both digits and symbols 
extremely frustrating.

I just realized that this is a duplicate of Issue #24.  Feel free to close it, 
but consider this a confirmation of Issue #24.
