Selection foreground/background not visible with iTerm2 #206

I am trying to use newsbeuter and weechat and both of the apps seem to have issue with the selected item, foreground and background color. This happens with both, dark and solarized.

I have a previous Zenburn theme which does not have this problem.

Any chance, this can be fixed? This will make me move to solarized completely.
