Faded colours in MacVim #267

I installed the Solarized colorschemes in MacVim and the Terminal. After some fiddling around it works great in the terminal, however in MacVim the colours are so faded I find it quite unworkable, especially the dark theme (which is the one I prefer). screen shot 2013-07-26 at 9 02 48 screen shot 2013-07-26 at 9 12 34 screen shot 2013-07-26 at 9 27 14

I might have something mis-configured so this is really more a question than an issue. Otherwise really liking the theme and thanks for the help in advance!

P.s. Looking at the screenshots I'm not entirely sure if the colours in the terminal are correct (green variable values?), but at least they're properly bright. I'll look into this some other time and it is not part of this issue.

Upgraded to Mavericks, upgraded MacVim, tweaked some other stuff over the past months and I've come to realise the colours are much better now. Can't tell you what improved it. macvim-solarized_washed-out-colours
