Touch: Tablet: Portrait view (rotation) not well supported. #1041

Issue: Touch: Tablet: Portrait view (rotation) not well supported.

portrait bad

Steps:

  1. Launch ChronoZoom (http://chronozoom.com)
  2. Rotate device to Portrait View

Actual result: Portrait View looks bad. (see attached, “portrait bad.png”)

Expected result: ChronoZoom should be resized to display well in both Portrait and Landscape views.

Configuration details Date: 9/3/2013 OS: iOS, Win8 Device(s): iPad (4th Generation), Win8 Tablet (Intel) Browser(s): all supported

Entire page needs to get reloaded in order to fit. But we have not considered mobile in much of past design until recently. Eventually, if we have enough user base to justify an app, that would make for the best user experience.

A web app (for mobile devices, especially the small screens) will always be a compromise.
